WEPL Premier One
Lansdown 153 all out, Clevedon 157-8

Dan Williams starred with bat and ball as Clevedon edged a tense encounter with Lansdown by two wickets to reclaim top spot in WEPL Premier One.

The all-rounder held his nerve with a patient and match-winning 38 not out, as Clevedon chased down 153 with two wickets and nearly four overs to spare.

Louie Woodland added 30 at the top of the order, but at 103-6, the hosts were in danger of wasting the winning position given to them by the bowlers. But Williams stood firm, as he had done in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, to lead his side to victory in front of a bumper President's Day crowd at Dial Hill.

Earlier, Matt Carpenter had continued his fine form with the ball, taking 3-30, while Dan Williams (2-40) also claimed two wickets. But it was debutant Tyler Leaman who was the pick of the Clevedon attack with 3-15 from four miserly overs of left-arm spin, while another young gun, Luke Pearson-Taylor (2-15) also impressed.
