Clevedon are delighted to announce the signing of wicketkeeper batsman, James Regan ahead of the 2020 WEPL Premier One season.

Regan scored 614 runs at an average of 43.86 for Taunton St Andrews in 2019, including two centuries and three fifties.

The former Somerset star makes the switch to Dial Hill, as Clevedon look to improve on last season’s sixth place finish.

“I’m really excited to be joining a talented squad with the potential of competing both regionally and nationally,” said Regan.

“Clevedon as a club are extremely ambitious and have had good success over the past few years. They have clear goals and I’m hope I can contribute to more wins next season.”

First team captain, Jake Lintott, added: “James is one of the most consistent performers at this level. He has real ability to produce match-winning innings with the bat.

“He is arguably the best keeper in the league, and he will bring a huge amount of energy both on and off the field.

“One thing I know we are getting, is someone who will give 110% and a burning desire to do get better. We are delighted to have him on board.”

First team coach, Piers McBride, said: “James is a class act on and off the field. I have always admired his abundant talents as a dominant batter and match-winning wicketkeeper.

“Nobody works harder at their game then James and I am delighted to be working with him.

“I know he will bring a level of commitment and energy to our young side that will galvanise the changing room.”
