Clevedon have secured the services of 23-year-old Gloucestershire batsman, Ryan Higgins for the 2018 season.

The middle-order batsman, who also bowls seam, has represented England U19 and moved to Gloucestershire from Middlesex at the end of the 2017 season.

"We are delighted that Ryan is going to be joining up with us for the summer," said First XI captain, Jake Lintott.

"I was lucky enough to witness his innings at Cheltenham last summer against Gloucestershire for Middlesex when he whacked it to all parts.

"I'm sure he's going to have a really successful summer with Gloucestershire, however he's really keen to be involved as much as his time allows, which is a real positive for us."

Higgins made his Middlesex debut in List A and Twenty20 cricket in 2014 and showed impressive boundary-clearing ability in the shortest format of the game.

In 2016, he also revealed unexpected T20 wicket-taking ability, too, collecting 5-13 against Hampshire to take Middlesex into the quarter-finals, having only taken his maiden T20 wicket on Thursday earlier that week. That Higgins was a dangerous customer in T20 was exemplified in 2017 when he rattled up an unbeaten 68 from 28 balls against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham.

"I'm delighted to be joining Clevedon," said Higgins. "I can't wait to get started this summer, playing in a new league at a really good club."
